In recent years, a new kind of wedding ceremony has emerged. Often, it takes place outside of a formal house of worship- but more importantly, modern couples seek a more meaningful and personalized wedding ceremony- one that truly reflects who they are. Whether you are seeking a ceremony that is secular, religious, spiritual but not religious, or combining traditions- it is my job to listen to you, make suggestions and to help create a vision for YOUR perfect ceremony. Without exception, every ceremony I officiate- from quick elopements to large affairs with hundreds of guests, is custom-crafted and delivered with warmth and elegance!
MEET BARBARA
I am Reverend Barbara Nahmias, an ordained, Interspiritual minister and celebrant in New York City- but please call me Barbara or “Rev Barb” as most people do! For me, joining two people who are in love is more than just a means of making a living- it's my soul's calling! I strive to be the island of calm a couple can turn to as I officiate over one of the most sacred, exciting and intimate moments in their lives.
Creating Your Ceremony
Some couples have a clear vision of the kind of ceremony they would like and others need help creating that vision. Sometimes partners have differing ideas. No matter where you are in your vision, it is my job to help bring to life a ceremony that truly reflects you!
There is a lot to consider, and that's where a professional officiant comes in with suggestions, guidance and wisdom.
